Steam is making its next sci-fi game 100% free for a limited time

Steam users were surprised by a new free game. Every now and then a game will be free on Steam, not via Valve, but the developers and publishers behind said game. The latest freebie comes from developer Redcatpig Studio and publisher Digital Matters Publishing, and it’s an unreleased game. The game in question is KEO, which launched in Steam Early Access back on December 9, 2021. It usually costs Steam users $10 to get into the game early, but for now, all Steam users can download it for free. The only condition is that the freebie must be redeemed before March 27, because within three days the offer will expire and the game will return to its normal price point.

As for the game itself, it was featured as a “multiplayer online team-based combat game set in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi world” by a small indie team. On Steam, it has already collected 217 reviews, 57 percent of which are positive, giving the game a “mixed” user review rating.

Below, you can read more about it and check out a trailer for it:

β€œIt is the year 2120, humans are competing for resources in an intense combat sport using high-tech remote-controlled vehicles collected from the ancient world that was destroyed 66 years ago,” an official game description reads. Fight in this multiplayer online team-based combat game set in a post-apocalyptic sci-fi world that features different game modes such as Deathmatch and Domination. Build your gear to suit your playstyle and balance your team to dominate the battlefield. “
